One of only six Petersburg residences listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Sutherland House is a two-story brick Italianate home built during the Civil War, 1860-1862. Includes 4000-sq ft main house with original details and 1000-sq ft dependency (former slave quarters). Located on 1 acre lot with landscaped gardens and historic trees. Location is just outside Old Town Petersburg, but in center city. Furnishings include period pieces, and exterior is visually identical to Civil War period.
