Nestled in California’s majestic Ojai Valley, Thacher House is animated by the raw, natural beauty of the Los Padres Mountains. A genuine piece of California history, this exclusive enclave communes with the lush landscape and the rich and varied resources of the valley’s last remaining chaparral habitat. The Thacher House compound is comprised of five buildings – all positioned within close proximity to one another – consisting of the Main House, the Caretaker’s Cottage, the Eucaplyptus Cottage, the Pepper Tree Cottage, and the Carriage House. Each respective structure possesses a sound spirit of it’s own while working in union with the whole. The lay of the land ensures a sense of privacy, serenity, and rightful respite. The 20 acre farm yields a variety of fresh fruits, vegetables, herbs, flowers, and olives, all of which are harvested for our ever-changing seasonal menus. Enjoy fresh meat, eggs, Lamancha goat’s milk, sheep’s milk, jams, preserves, granola, yogurt, crème fraiche, a variety of cheeses, bread, and other baked goods, all cultivated on the property. Thacher House is the true definition of “farm to table”–after all, they’re only a few feet away.Ideal for family reunions, corporate retreats, board meetings, and small weddings.
