TLAC is the only impoundment facility in Travis County.Town Lake Animal Center is an open-admission animal shelter. We accept any and all animals that are brought to us, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. We provide care and shelter to 600 -700 animals every day. Our Lost & Found Department works to reunite stray animals and their owners and operates our Pet Registration Program. Our Animal Control Officers respond to animal-related complaints in the community, including animal bites and nuisances, stray or injured animals, and reports of cruelty and neglect. Our Animal Care program provides daily and veterinary care to all animals at the shelter and neuters all adoptable pets to help counter the pet overpopulation crisis in our community.
