Wasatch Junior High is located in the Millcreek area of Salt Lake City. Wasatch Junior High opened in 1959. In 1962, enrollment reached a peak of 1,559 students. In July, 2005, the building was destroyed by a devastating fire. From 2005 – 2008, Wasatch students attended school with neighboring Churchill Junior High. Three years later, in August, 2008, the new Wasatch opened its doors to 820 students.
