Panther Racing is headquartered on the south-west side of Indianapolis, Ind., just a handful of miles away from where managing team partner John Barnes was raised. The team was centered in northern Indy during its first few years of operation before Barnes moved south in 2000 to a new 30,000 square foot faciliy the AmeriPlex Complex, located just west of Decatur Central High School. The team’s entryway welcomes guests with a board room entrance that replicates the old-school Indianapolis Motor Speedway’s green and white garages, a trophy case that holds memorabilia from all of the team’s victories, pole positions and championships and a full-size wall portrait of the balloons being released during the opening ceremonies for the greatest race in the world, the Indianapolis 500. The shop is reminiscent of an old basketball field house with victory and championship banners hanging from the rafters and is large enough to run as many as four-full time IndyCar Series machines. Panther’s facility is complete with a full fabrication and paint shop, shock room, gearbox department, electronics room, sub-assembly department, carbon room and many other amenities that have helped the organization win three championships. The front office houses a spacious engineering department, and offices for Panther’s administration, communications and Panther Education Center staff.
