Vulcan, Birmingham Alabama’s colossal statue is the world’s largest cast iron statue and considered one of the most memorable works of civic art in the United States. Designed by Italian artist Giuseppe Moretti and cast from local iron in 1904, Vulcan has overlooked Alabama’s largest city from atop Red Mountain since the 1930s.

THE CITY OVERLOOK
Impress guests with amazing views of Birmingham with this spacious and scenic outdoor area. The City Overlook may be used exclusively as the site for an event or in conjunction with the Electra Event Room to accommodate larger parties. Tenting is allowed. Outdoor tables and chairs not included in event booking.

MUSEUM PLAZA
This area, located right outside the entrance to Vulcan Center, features a giant stone map of the Birmingham area and beautiful views of downtown Birmingham on one side and the Over-the-Mountain area on the other. The Museum Plaza may be used exclusively as the site for an event or in conjunction with the Electra Event Room to accommodate larger parties. Tenting is NOT allowed. Outdoor tables and chairs not included in event booking.
