The Cherokee Arts Center building is an Historic Landmark whose origin dates back to the 1800’s. It was first erected as the Methodist Episcopal Church South in 1842. The current building was completed in 1926. This historic building was deeded by Cherokee County to the Cherokee Arts Council in September 1998. It has since been updated and re-purposed as the Cherokee Arts Center.
