Famous brother Cason J. Callaway needed a retreat from the busy mill life of his family in LaGrange, Georgia. He and his wife Virginia discovered the 127 acre oasis in Hamilton, and after several years of retreating to their cabin there, they built their 8,286-square-foot log home in 1938 and made it their permanent residence.
