The Cherokee County Adult Detention Center, which was built in 2003 is currently the primary holding facilities for inmates in Cherokee County. A new detention facility is scheduled to be opened in April of 2021 and renovations of the current Adult Detention Center are scheduled after the inmates are moved to the new facility.
