Location Description

This classic Bucks County Farm dates back to 1789 and has had an intriguing lineage. In the late 1930’s, the farm was purchased by the playwright, Jack Kirkland with the proceeds from his Broadway play “Tobacco Road,” and soon became a gathering place for stars of the American Theater. Hidden down the long and gracefully tree-lined entrance to the farm, the property immediately pulls at your heartstrings with its meandering streams and gardens, fields and pastures, and grooves of birch, willow and evergreen. The property quietly opens to reveal a cluster of majestic and historic buildings, including the main house, guest house, bank and milking barns, silo, horse barn, stable and corn crib, surrounded within the privacy of 180 acres of large open fields, pastures, densely wooded areas and old stone walls. Owned since 1999, by Robin and Marty Staff, Historic Kirkland Farm continues the Kirkland legacy as a rustic retreat for artists and offers an inspirational setting for destination events that range from photo shoots, wedding receptions, family celebrations, business conferences or just a retreat from life’s bustling pace. Every season at Kirkland Farm provides it own magic.
