Location Description

Italian Lake, a 9.5 acre park in Harrisburg's Uptown neighborhood was built in the 1930's. The lake it is named for is manmade and created from converted swampland. The elaborate, formal gardens found throughout were designed in Italian Renaissance style; a Japanese Harmony Bridge spans the lake and a fountain, "Dance of the Eternal Spring" emerges from the center. Antique-style street lights and a bandstand for outdoor concerts are also prominently featured.
