Location Description

Welcome to the Gardner Farm. The Gardner Farm is the most historic property in the region, dating back to 1800 when the first permanent settlement in present day Magoffin County, Licking Station, was located on a bluff overlooking the Licking River. It has been in continuous ownership of the family for 200 years now and contains a beautiful 1830 original home. Owing to its central location along the Pound Gap/Mount Sterling and Rebel Trace roads as well as being a prosperous center of trade it became a major hub of Civil War activity by both armies. Tens of thousands camped there and four battles were fought there.
