The Spee is a private club of 15,000 square feet on two floors, located close to Harvard Square. It is a neoclassical clubhouse built in 1931 with spacious, sunny rooms and plenty of space for crew and cast should only one main room be in use. There is a sitting room on the first floor, a poker room, a billiard room, a library stocked with books, a main staircase and large landing at the top, two bathrooms, kitchen, large banquet hall which can seat 120 guests, a large living room, and a wood panelled bar room. All major rooms have working fireplaces. There is a large garden with a ninety year old tree as its centerpiece. the club is available for rental year round. There are paintings, tapestries and posters throughout the clubhouse, and all can be covered or removed during filming.
