QV1 is an iconic 43 storey modernist tower located at the western end of Perth’s St Georges Terrace. Designed by internationally renowned architect Harry Seidler AC, QV1 was completed in 1991.
The simple philosophy behind QV1’s design was “Perth would have a humanistic building, as opposed to another monument to commerce”. That’s why a large portion of the site is dedicated to public open space. The focus of this space is the people’s plaza, a public oasis with a waterfall, palm trees and a meandering pool amidst a cacophony of city commerce.
