Located in the suburb of Hillsborough, Monte Cecilia Park offers an authentic experience of a typical old English countryside estate. It is the location of Pah Homestead which was built between 1877 and 1879. One of the largest and finest homes in Auckland at that time, the plastered brick in the Italianate style is based on Queen Victoria and Prince Albert's Osborne House on the Isle of Wight. Pah Homestead is now home to the Wallace Arts Trust.
The estate includes Monte Cecilia Path, a leisurely walk set within a Victorian designed landscape. It has big shady trees and magnificent views towards Maungakiekie One Tree Hill and Māngere Mountain. Although the terrain is quite rugged in places, the path is generally quite wide with some paved sections.
A short wooden boardwalk is located through the wetlands area at the bottom of the park beside Marcellin College.
There are access points to Monte Cecilia Park on several surrounding streets.
