A precinct comprising airport buildings and development styles ranging from the 1940's to 1960's and pre-war and wartime hangars. The 7 Mile Aerodrome precinct reflects both military and civilian aviation history during the early war years and post war era. The most intense usage as a staging point occurred in the early 1940's in the building up of aerial forces to assist the war effort in the Netherlands's East Indies. The facility was made an RAAF base from 1942 until 1946. Several of the buildings reflect the military usage of World War II and the immediate post war period.
