Established in 1957, the South Essex Crematorium is located on the outskirts of the Upminster Cemetery. Graceful columns and arches in contrasting white stone accentuate this red brick building.There are two chapels within. The South Chapel can seat up to 120 guests with a balcony. The smaller East Chapel seats approximately 40 people. Both have an organ available. The crematorium area features four ovens, and with tiled floors could easily double for a morgue or laboratory.
