Falls Village, CT, US / CT
As you enter under the driveway's stone archway, you know you are in for something special. Those with an active imagination see fantasy stories and often more. One thing is sure, everyone looks twice. Longing for the Old Country, one man, John Facchin, spent over 35 years of his life trying to make his Connecticut home replicate the world he missed so much. This village home is constructed out of a variety of stone, local, imported and exotic, in a way only a master mason, and artisan, could imagine. There's nothing extraordinary about stone facades, and rock gardens certainly are not outlandish in this neck of Connecticut. But,with stone archways leading in, stone turrets that have angels embedded in them, odd accents such as built in cement tables and chairs and the list goes on, this isn't your average stone cottage. With sprawling patios, terraces, stone walls and even a grotto, it feels like your own villa. Some people buy art and put on there walls. I bought a piece of art and live in it.
