Considered by many the most beautiful historic green in all of New England, the Guilford Town Green encompasses approximately 12 acres divided into multiple triangles of grass, walkways and 125 shade trees of different species. The Civil War Memorial (1877) centers the green, with historic churches and quaint shops such as the Village Chocolatier and Page Hardware surrounding this picturesque location. Meryl Streep used The Marketplace across from the Guilford Town Green as a movie set for "Hope Springs." submitted by: Brian McGlone, Economic Development Coordinator
