The beautifully restored manor house that the winery is located in dates back to 1807. It is widely known to be very haunted, a fact which the winery does not shy away from. They host very popular History and Hauntings dinner tastings, and even have a vintage dubbed "Apparition." The winery has beautiful views of the rolling hills and Appalachian Mountains to the west. The history of the home includes that it was used during the Civil War as a hospital, and that one of the families in the 1800's had a nephew who was deemed "insane" by the sheriff and sequestered to live in a tiny locked room in the attic.
