HARLOWTON, MT, 59085 US / MT
Harlowton is the seat of Wheatland County, home of Montana's largest Wind Farm which is, at times, the highest producing facility in the USA. The Judith Gap Wind Energy Center is located midway between Harlowton and Judith Gap. Constructed by Invenergy Services in 2005, the 90-tower wind farm has annual output around 450,000 megawatts. The Wind Farm catches the eye of travelers and locals alike. It has become a major central Montana tourist attraction and helped spawn The Montana Festival of the Wind which was first held in June 2007. This annual festival is celebrated each June. A turnout with informative kiosks on Highway 191 is under construction.
