The J.M. Koch's Hotel building was built in 1906 and has since been used as a railroad hotel, a boarding house, a residential property and now a bed & breakfast. Property has five large guest rooms, fully dressed per period with antique furnishings. All rooms have their own tile-floor bathrooms w/ claw foot bath tubs as well. Hilo and Candy Del Bosque have owned the building since 1995, and worked on the renovation for 3 years before opening the doors as a bed & breakfast in January of 1998. Directions to property: Take Hwy 90 West from San Antonio through Castroville and Hondo. Continue on Hwy 90 8 more miles past Hondo until you come to D'Hanis. First you will see a Valero station on the left. Continue on Hwy 90 to the first road that turns right(which is FM 1796) Turn Right, cross RR tracks, turn right and the hotel will be on your immediate left. You will see it from Hwy 90. It has J.M. Koch's Hotel at the top of the two story brick building. Located just across from the Hwy 90 railroad tracks - passing trains can be very loud.
