Location Description

Built in 1848, Howard House was owned by Colonel George R. Howard and remained in the Howard family until it was purchased by the city of Palestine in 1964. The house features remarkable Greek Revival architecture in each of its 8 rooms. This 170 year old house has been designated as a Texas Historical landmark and has been added to the National Register of Historic Places. Howard House is now a museum housing period furniture, 19th century antiques, and early photographs from the area.
