Location Description

Valley Forge is the site of the 1777-1778 encampment of the Continental Army lead by George Washington; it spans 3,500 acres in southeastern Pennsylvania. Among other historical monuments & buildings the park is home to the Washington Memorial Chapel built to honor the nation’s first president. The chapel was constructed in 1903 in Gothic Revival style & includes a Bell Tower. The Bell Tower houses the Justice Bell, a full sized replica of the Liberty Bell first rung in 1920 to commemorate the passage of the 19th Amendment granting women the right to vote.
