Re-built in 1869 in Edmonton after the courthouse was burned to the ground, the current courthouse has recently undergone a complete restoration. Many modifications inside and outside the historic courthouse have taken place in an attempt to return it to its original condition. Edmonton is located in south central Kentucky equal distance from Louisville, KY and Nashville, TN. The 2005 census lists the population as 1600. A stately and historical courthouse amid a large tree-filled lawn stands in the center of the town square.
