Stoneacre was commissioned in the early 1900s by artist Frederick Garrison Hall as a wedding gift for his wife, Evelyn Ames Hall. Following more than eight years of construction, the estate was completed in 1920 by famed North Shore builder J.T. Wilson and Boston architects Bellows and Aldrich.
