Location Description
The Potts Hill Reservoir No.1 has been used as an enormous set build site for major studio feature production. It is large enough to house within its walls the sets for a large feature production, as well as the unit base trucks, trailers and honey wagons. It is approximately 340m x 250m. Major feature productions utilising the site for large-scale set construction and filming include ALIEN: COVENANT and MAD MAX: FURY ROAD. The Potts Hill Reservoir is a 35-minute drive from Disney Studios Australia. This State Heritage site totals approximately 40 acres, the major portion of this site (22 acres) being the original Reservoir Number 1 and several decommissioned pumping stations. It is owned and managed by Sydney Water Corporation (NSW Government), which is very open to filming. The Reservoir has security fencing and has large areas of land surrounding it that can be used for associated filming activities, including construction and parking. It also has a number of buildings and warehouses that can be used for workshops, offices, etc. As a heritage reservoir, it is also an ideal location to construct a water tank for filming with ready access to water and drainage.
