The Yarrangobilly area of Kosciuszko National Park contains over 60 spectacular limestone caves. There are currently 6 show caves open to the public: South Glory Cave, North Glory Cave, Castle Cave, Harrie Wood Cave, Jersey Cave and Jillabenan Cave. Visitors to the area can also enjoy the outdoor thermal pool, which is fed with warm water year-round by a natural spring, take the Yarrangobilly River walk through the rugged karst landscape and take in the valley from Bluff Lookout. Accommodation is available at the modern Lyrebird Cottage or the historic Yarrangobilly Caves House, which dates between 1901-1917. Located 77 km from Tumut, 109 km from Cooma and 975 m above sea level, the caves are reached by a one-way 6.5 km dirt road which is in good order and well maintained.
