This small country town is situated approximately 250km west of Sydney, between Lithgow & Mudgee. Kandos is a unique town nestled at the foot of a mountain in the Central West of New South Wales (NSW). Once a private village and home to the largest cement works in the southern hemisphere, Kandos has a strong industrial history and filming locations, making it a place like no other. Discoveries of vast deposits of limestone, shale and coal in the early 1900’s led to the establishment of the Kandos Cement Company, which commenced mining operations in 1916.
