Kosciuszko, NSW, 2625 AU / NSW
Dead Horse Gap Track runs off the Alpine Way (the main highway running through Kosciusko National Park), south-east of Thredbo Village and north-west of Tom Groggin. Dead Horse Gap exists between the Great Dividing Range at 1580m and the watershed between the Thredbo Snowy System and the Murray River. The name reference is allegedly related to the wild brumbies that sometimes became caught in the area during unexpected snowfalls and died.
