The Rocks is home to some of the oldest pubs in Sydney, and many remain close to original condition. One of the oldest still has the original “Rum Run” from Probation, when a tunnel was carved into the rock under the pub running from Sydney wharf to the pub cellar bringing illegal booze to the locals. The Rocks is one of the most-visited parts of Sydney. Nestled at the foot of the Sydney Harbour Bridge on the western shores of Sydney Cove, The Rocks is of historical significance. It is often described as "Sydney's outdoor museum".
