The Women’s College is located within The University of Sydney and it is historically significant as the first residential university college for women in Australia. The first of the buildings was opened in 1894 and housed 26 students. Subsequent building and refurbishment programs have expanded the premises, which now houses approximately 285 students. In 2005 the College was listed on the NSW State Heritage Register.
