Location Description

The City of Tampa built this Strauss Bascule drawbridge in the mid 1920s, financed by a $3 million public improvement bond issue. The bridge connected Cass Street on the east side of the river with Lime Street on the west side of the river. The Cass Street Bridge and the Platt Street Bridge are of nearly identical design. Located next to CSX - Hillsborough River Bridge.
