Low Head is at the entrance to the River Tamar in northern Tasmania. It is home to the Low Head Pilot Station which has continually operated from 1805 until the present day, assisting ships navigate from Bass Strait into the River Tamar. The Low Head Pilot Station Historic Precinct is privately owned and offers a range of accommodation, a museum, function centre and a cafe - all in original buildings.
