Hackensack, NJ, US / NJ

Location Description

Built in the fortified Medieval Revival style, which includes turrets, parapets, and slit windows. The building’s cross-shaped plan has wings radiating out from a central octagonal tower surmounted by a dome skylight. Jail was built at the same time as the courthouse and completed in 1912. Surrounded by barb wire and fencing, has a fencing area that acts as a gate to the facility with caution and warning signs, 6 cells 2 a wing, 2 wings per area of the jail. This facility is only available for filming on nights and weekends. Because the old jail has cramped quarters and no modern HVAC, the county will insist on a smaller crew size, and their legal and health departments would have to review all applications prior to approval.
