البلد هي المنطقة التاريخية في جدة، تأسست في القرن السابع وهي المركز التاريخي لمدينة جدة. وتقع جدة التاريخية، أو ما يسمى بوسط مدينة جدة في قلب جدة الحالية على الشاطئ الشرقي للبحر الأحمر، ووفقاً للمصادر فإن وجودها يعود إلى حقبة ما قبل الإسلام. تضم جدة التاريخية عددا من المعالم الأثرية والمباني التراثية ذات الأهمية التاريخية، مثل جدار جدة القديم وساحاته التاريخية المفتوحة. كما يتواجد عدد من المساجد التاريخية مثل مسجد عثمان بن عفان، ومسجد الشافعي، ومسجد الباشا، ومسجد عكاش، ومسجد المعمار، ومسجد الحنفي. كما توجد عدد من الأسواق التقليدية الشعبية. و يحتوي سور جدة القديم على بابين رئيسيين، واحد يواجه مكة المكرمة، والآخر يواجه البحر، ويضم 6 أبراج , حيث يبلغ طول كل برج حوالي 6 أذرع، كما يحتوي الجدار أيضًا على ستة أبواب إضافية: باب مكة، باب المدينة، باب الشريف، باب جديد، باب بنط وباب المغربي. و في بداية القرن العشرين، تمت إضافة بوابة جديدة إليه، وسميت باسم باب الصبة. و قد تم استبدال جزء كبير من الجدار لغرض الترميم مع توسع المكان. و تبلغ مساحة المنطقة حوالي 1.5 كم2 داخل جدار جدة القديم حيث لا يزال يحتوي على لمسات من الحياة التقليدية والطبيعة الاجتماعية والاقتصادية. تتركز الأسواق حاليًا حول المساجد، حيث توجد بعض المحلات الحرفية التقليدية، ومن أشهر الأسواق التي تنتمي إلى الماضي التاريخي للمنطقة والتي تشكل شريان الحياة الاقتصادي الحيوي: سوق العلوي، سوق البدو، سوق قابل، سوق الندى. . . أقرب مطار: مطار الملك عبد العزيز الدولي، جدة، على بعد 32.1 كم من جدة التاريخية (باب جديد، البلد). . . Al-Balad is the historical area of Jeddah, the second largest city of Saudi Arabia. Balad can literally be translated as "The Town. Founded in the 7th century. Balad is the historic center of the City of Jeddah. The Historical Old Jeddah or otherwise called the downtown Jeddah is located in the heart of present Jeddah. It is situated on the eastern shore of the Red Sea. According to sources, its existence dates back to the era before Islam. The Old Jeddah wall has two main doors, one facing the Holy Makkah, and the other facing the sea, and it includes 6 towers. Each tower is about 6 cubits in diameter. The wall also has six additional doors. Bab Makkah, Bab Al Madina, Bab Al Sharif, Bab Jadeed, Bab Al Bint and Bab Al Mughrabi. At the beginning of 20th century, a new gate was added to it and named as Bab Al Saba. Much of the wall was replaced due to modern urbanization in the recent history. The area is around approximately 1.5 square kilometers within the Old Jeddah wall. It still contains touches of traditional life and socio-economic nature. The Souks are currently concentrated around the mosques and markets where there are some traditional craft-shops. Among the most famous markets belonging to the region’s historical past that forms the vital economic lifeline in the area are: Souk Al Aluwi, Souk Al Baddu, Souk Gabil, Souk Al Nada.
