Historic Plantation style home near New Orleans

US / Mississippi
Listed By: Peter Pawlowski
Location ID: #999-19341
This historic home was built in the late 1800s, it may just be the oldest home in Picayune. It is located on an acre of land with old live oak trees and a spooky old character. The house has 11 foot ceilings, many large windows, very large living room, 2 large bedrooms, large dining room, a simple fireplace and kitchen, with beat up wood floors. Large open front porch and large glass enclosed rear porch. Exterior is peeing paint and has a haunted, witchy look. Large yard is about an acre and is mainly grass with some large very old live oak trees hanging majestically over the land. Picayune is a small town located an easy one hour (50 mile) drive from New Orleans. The neighborhood is working class, and next door to the house is a historic brick elementary school. Visiting Picayune is like a visit to the past.
