Folkestone Gardens

GB / England
Listed By: FilmFixer Ltd
Location ID: #999-3725
Folkestone Gardens is a small man-made urban garden in Deptford, South London. It was created in the 1970s on a plot of land that was formerly severely damaged by the bombs in World War II. The park takes its name from the street of high-density railwaymen's houses that used to be on the site. The park is home to a wide variety of flora and fauna. The undulating green space is landscaped and contains walkways, woodland areas and a large pond. The pond also has a picturesque island with a large weeping willow and pond-side plants. Facilities include a children's playground, a ball court, a skate park and a multi-sports pitch.
