Opened in 1934, the historic Geraldine Mary Hamsworth Park provides an impressive backdrop to the Imperial War Museum in Kennington. It is famous for its Soviet War Memorial and its Tibetan Peace Garden which was opened by the Dalai Lama in 1999. The park received a Green Flag Award in 2012.
